Sam Keane (MFA) is a professional clay worker since the early 80s, although working with clay from 1969. She is concerned with traditional craft skills as she is with modern ideas and fashion. Her style of work is in the flavor of 50s, 60s, Pop Art, Memphis, (Italian) and Art Deco, with a strong sense of originality. The emphasis she places on her work is brightness and color, with overtones of a sense of fun and cheeky. She creates a different perspective on functional ware. Sam is in the collection of the Gallery of South Australia. Her work is with overseas collectors in the UK and the US. She is known for her quirky teapots. She has had many solo shows and group exhibitions around Australia.
